Automatic Meter Reading System in Distribution Companies; As a result of the last Electricity Distribution tenders held on March 15, 2013; After the transfer of distribution companies to the private sector, all electricity distribution and retail services throughout the country will be carried out by the private sector.
The minimum technical specification of the counters in accordance with the OSOS (Automatic meter reading system) issued by EPDK and the subscribers and consumption conditions to be established in OSOS are also determined in a communiqué. Currently, subscribers scheduled to be installed in OSOS do not include the entire subscriber portfolio.
In addition, as of 31.12.2013, customer counters whose stamping period has completed 10 years according to epdk's communiqué; osos standards will be replaced free of charge after it has been approved by the relevant distribution company one year in advance under the investment program.
It is a legal obligation to install OSOS according to the criteria set by the EPDK. But it is also true that OSOS may soon be available to all subscribers.
Counter manufacturers or importers, especially in monophased counters; They need to start work on producing counters with RS 232 or RS 485 communication ports and GPRS, PLC and RF modem options embedded in the counter.
Reading counters remotely via modem will give distribution companies great advantages in efficiency and control. On the one hand, they can read the counters at all points of sale at the time of reading the meter at the points where they receive energy, so they can make loss/leakage tracking; On the other hand, they will be able to provide full control by transmitting interventions to counters via message to the distribution company system.
Lost Leakage Analysis with Automatic Meter Reading System in Distribution Companies
By lowering loss/leakage analyses to a more local level with a suitable topology; it will also be possible to reach the result more quickly by following it on a microscale on the part of the transformer region.
Consumption and informatics records on counters are also possible to be edited to a certain standard, especially consumption information; load profiles and informatics information can be taken and used more comfortably, even in different counter brands.
With the rapid development of technology, the physical dimensions of counters and modems are reduced; On the other hand, with the cheapning of communication, perhaps more recently than we expected, all counters will be read, inspected and cut open more recently.
For this reason, it will be possible to replace a meter that changed in 2014 without waiting for the stamping or replacement phase of the counters that have expired every 10 years to be completely read remotely before the 10-year stamp period expires. Instead of constantly changing counters, it would be useful to work on the appropriate solutions already.
