Banding Wind Power Plants; Wind energy is an energy field that is rapidly becoming important today and has become more attractive for future generations with a rapid understanding of both environmental health and economic importance.
Considering that the big problems of today are energy-induced, the importance of wind energy should be learned and taught in the name of a better future.
The answer to the question "Why wind energy?" can be found here. In this sense, I found it appropriate to share my information about Bandirma Wind Turbines, which are in my close proximity.
Bares Wind Power Plant: One of Turkey's largest wind energy investments and realized by Bilgin Energy Investment Holding; It is built 10 km east of Bandirma, just off the coast of the Marmara Sea.
The plant, which is an alternative source of energy, has increased total wind power in Turkey and has contributed greatly in this sense.
There are currently 52 wind turbines in operation in bandirma region.

With an average of 120,000 MWh of electricity per year to be produced at the plant, the electricity needs of a residential center of 80,000 people can be met!
In addition, with the introduction of BARES II, the main causes of global warming; It is calculated that it will reduce carbon emissions from CO2 and greenhouse gases by an average of 80,000 tons per year.
The energy generated will be sold to electricity wholesale companies under free market conditions or to factories and industrial facilities with free consumer status that can supply electricity itself.
Wind measurement was carried out for 7 years for Bares Wind Power Plant Project carried out by Bilgin Energy Investment Holding.
As a result of the measurements, the most efficient place is located in the east of Bandirma; Erikli, Dutliman and Sahil Yenice villages and region were chosen. The most important reason for this is the wind density and intensity of the region.
Then, in order to build a wind power plant, the production license numbered EÜ/320-1/453 was obtained from epdk (Turkish Energy Market Inspection Authority) on 18.05.2004 in accordance with Electricity Market Law no. 4628 and related legislation, and the construction of Bandirma Wind Power Plant was started.

Based on the map above; it is easy to see that our western coasts are efficient in terms of wind energy and there are areas where investment needs to be made.
The turbines, each with a wings diameter of 72 meters and a value of $1.5 million, were completed by GE (General Electric) in mid-February 2006 and were transported from Bandirma Port to the region by trucks and assembled by GE Wind Energy team.
52 meters high steel towers where turbines made of camfiber are installed are manufactured in Gemlik factory of Çimtaş in Turkey.
Additions are being made to the wind turbines already in place and the region is an important wind energy production site.
However, no matter how much the investments increase, we can still not benefit from wind energy with full efficiency. Work must continue to do so.
