Another OSOS Solution; Reading Counters with PLC Modems! For now og subscribers have started reading applications with GPRS modems of counters
and we will soon see that the meter readings of electricity subscribers measuring from AG will be done with PLC modems. Communication with the continued technology at this rate; it will be both cheaper and easier, so the implementation of this technology will start soon.
If appropriate topology is selected at the beginning of the project, leakage/loss analyses are made more easily on the part of the transformer region; the responsibility zone can be supervised, as well as the total loss/leakage information within the license area will be clearly visible.
Currently, energy exchange points and out-of-state or out-of-duty energy exchanges are read at 24.00 at night on the last day of each month; the reading time of customer counters is completed in a one-month period.
Therefore, it is never possible to access real one-to-one leakage/loss data.
Counter Reading Advantages with PLC Modems
If all counters belonging to customers in the AG substation area, where plc modems and counter reading will take place, are requested due to the software on the modem; at 24.00 at night, while being programmed to receive data, it offers the possibility to be compared to the meter that measures the total consumption in the transformer on the one hand; on the other hand, it will be able to compare with simultaneous measurement of energy purchase meters.
Collecting data with PLC modems is completely free as it uses power lines entirely from the subscriber counter to the data collection device in the transformer.
From the data collection center in the transformer; the consumption information of thousands of customers can be easily transferred to the distribution company headquarters via GPRS, PSTN or the Internet at the same time.
Thus, since all customer counters in the area of responsibility of companies can be read in one day or even at the same time, it will be possible to see the actual leakage/loss rates and to perform the analysis on the part of the transformer and to intervene in the problems as soon as possible.
By applying this method, counter reading realization rates will also be higher because counter readings can be read on closed, unavailable or seasonally used irrigation and summer type subscriptions, depending on the location's condition.
